Jesus Is Arrested^(A)

⁴⁷ While Jesus was speaking, [^Llook; ^Tbehold] a crowd came up, and [^Lthe man called] Judas, one of the twelve apostles, was leading them. He came close to Jesus so he could kiss him.

⁴⁸ But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

⁴⁹ When those who were standing around him saw what was ·happening [about to happen], they said, “Lord, should we strike them with our swords?”
